美国副总统拜登12月5号下午离开北京,结束两天的访华行程,转往南韩。根据报导,拜登4号与中共国家主席习近平举行会谈,讨论到防空识别区问题,但最终没有达成共识。拜登明确表示﹕美国不承认中共的“东海防空识别区”,而中共方面也继续坚持原来的说法,不肯让步。

拜登吁北京尊重新闻自由和普世人权

据《美国之音》报导,美国副总统拜登在北京访问期间,还对中国的新闻自由现状发表了评论。

拜登12月4号在向在北京的美国工商业人士发表讲话时说,“当人们能够自由呼吸,有言论自由, 能够挑战正统,当报纸可以报导真相而不必担心后果的时候,创新就会层出不穷。”

拜登表示,美国和中共在如何对待美国在华记者问题上有深刻的分歧。拜登呼吁中方尊重普世人权。

张林女儿发公开信 向世界政要求助

而安徽维权人士张林在美国的女儿张儒莉及张安妮,12月5号发表公开信,呼吁中共领导人习近平、美国总统欧巴马、联合国秘书长潘基文及各国首脑,关注张林一案。

被控涉嫌“聚众扰乱公共场所秩序”的张林,中共当局将在12月18号开庭审理。

张林的女儿在信中说,中共当局指控张林的罪名是根本不存在的,她们强烈要求当局无罪释放她们的父亲。

公开信除了呼吁各界人士关注张林之外,还呼吁关注其他正在中国被关押的政治犯,如﹕姚诚、周维林、李化平和柴宝文等人。

两个小女孩在信中向这些世界政要大声疾呼,“拿出你们的影响力,你们的关注可以使他们获得自由!”

新余案庭审继续 王功权或央视认罪

在中国,被认为是“新公民运动”第一案的“新余三君子”案,连日来开庭审理,在第三天的庭审中,三名当事人都公开表示,遭到公安人员的刑讯逼供。刘萍表示,在公安笔录过程中遭国保人员殴打。魏忠平也表示,他被一名派出所所长殴打面部,并听到隔壁监室李思华遭殴打的惨叫。

而被关押近3个月的“新公民运动”主要发起人之一的王功权,4号也传出消息说,他在看守所解除了对辩护律师陈有西的委托。

香港《南华早报》12月5号引述3个不同的信息来源报导说,王功权已接受警方对他“扰乱公共秩序”的指控。王功权在一份录像中表示,将和“新公民运动”发起人许志永断绝关系并划清界限。

报导说,知情人透露,视频中王功权神情憔悴。这个视频可能最近将在《央视》播放。

Biden: Air Defense Zone Not Agreed

On Dec. 5 U.S. Vice President Joe Biden left Beijing for
South Korea ending his two-day visit to China.
According to the report, Biden and Chinese President
Xi Jinping held talks on the 4th.
They failed to reach a consensus on the issue of air defense
identification zone.
Biden made it clear that the U.S. will not recognize the
air defense identification zone in the East China Sea.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) also retained
its principled position.

Biden Calls on Beijing to Respect Press Freedom and
Universal Human Rights

According to the Voice of America, Biden expressed his
opinion on press freedom in China.

In his speech to US businessmen in Beijing, Mr Biden said,
“Innovation will thrive where people breathe freely, speak
freely, are able to challenge orthodoxy, where newspapers
can report the truth without fear of consequences."

Biden also said that the two sides had “profound
disagreements" over the treatment of US journalists in China.
He called on China to respect universal human rights.

Zhang Lin’s Daughters Seek Help from World Leaders

Anhui activist Zhang Lin’s two daughters Zhang Ruli and
Zhang Anni, wrote an open letter regarding Zhang Lin’s case.
They sent this to Chinese leader Xi Jinping, U.S. President
Barack Obama, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and
heads of all nations.

Accused of “gathering people to disturb public order,"
Zhang Lin’s case hearing is set for Dec. 18.

Zhang’s daughters wrote they are demanding acquittal
of their father and that the charge is untrue.

In the open letter, attention was also called upon other political
prisoners being detained in China such as Yao Cheng, Zhou
Weilin, Li Huaping, Chai Baowen etc.

These two little girls speak out to the world leaders,
“Exert your influence. Your attention will set them free!"

Xinyu Case Hearing Continues, CCTV Records
Wang Gongquan Pleading Guilty

The Xinyu case is considered the first case of
“new citizens’ movement."
On the third day of the trial, all three defendants
publicly said that they have been tortured during
the police investigation.

Liu Ping was beaten by state security when the police were
making a report.
Wei Zhongping was hit in the face by a chief of a police station,
while hearing Li Sihua next door screaming from being beaten.

One of the main organizers of new citizens’ movement,
Wang Gongquan has been jailed for nearly three months.
It was said that he has terminated his commission to attorney
Chen Youxi on Dec. 4th.

Citing three different sources, Hong Kong’s South China
Morning Post reported on Dec. 5 that Wang Gongquan has
accepted the police allegation of “disturbing public order."

In a video recording, Wang said he severs his relationship with
Xu Zhiyong, another organizer of new citizens’ movement,
and draws a line away from Xu.

It is reported that according to an insider, Wang Gongquan
looked haggard in the film.
