China Hides Behind North Korea’sTest.

On February 12, North Korea conducted a third nuclear test.

The action immediately drew unanimous condemnation
from the international community.
Strongly worded statements were issued from the U.S.,
South Korea, Japan, Russia, among others.
The UN Security Council urgently drafted a new round of
sanctions and resolutions against North Korea.
China, the sole long-term ally of North Korea,
also criticized North Korea’stest.
Reportedly, the Chinese Communist Party(CCP) officials
summoned North Korea’sambassador to China.
Political observers say that the CCP regime and North Korea
are both totalitarian, sharing common interests.
They say that both are just performing,
one singing while the other is acting.

North Korean nuclear weapon development started
under the reign of dictator Kim Jong Il.
The country has so far conducted two nuclear tests
in 2006 and in 2009, respectively.

North Korea’s official media reported that in the latest
nuclear test, “a smaller and light A-bomb yet with greater explosive power” was tested.

China’sEarthquake authorities said that they had detected
a magnitude 4.9 “artificial earthquake".
Experts have suggested that the scale of this nuclear test
was equivalent to the power of 20,000 tons of TNT.
This is the same as the power of the atom bomb
dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, in 1945.

The explosion immediately aroused the international
community’scondemnation.
U.S. President Barack Obama has called for
more severe sanctions against North Korea.
South Korea, Japan, France, and Russia immediately issued
a statement strongly condemning North Korea’snuclear test.
The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting to
discuss sanctions against North Korea.

How far will the CCP regime go in support of the UN’s
sanction against its long-term ally, North Korea?
The question has triggered a great deal of public concern.

Reportedly, after North Korea’snuclear explosion, CCP
Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi summoned the North Korean ambassador to China.
The CCP authorities officially denounced the latest test,
which was nothing new compared with ones carried out in 2006 and in 2009.

(Critic) Wu Fan: “Why did it take such an approach?
That indicates the CCP retains the same stance on North Korea, and shares the same interests.
At least on the face of it, North Korea’s actions
were all to make the U.S. nervous”

Wu Fan interprets that the CCP uses North Korea as
a buffer to confront the U.S. and South Korea.
As long as North Korea doesn’t provoke a war, nor
create a large flux of North Korean refugees into China,
the alliance of the two dictatorships will continue, he says.

Wu Fan: “One unofficial question is whether the nuclear test
was staged with the help of the CCP or by North Korea itself ?”

Earlier on, WikiLeaks disclosed that former Foreign Minister
Qian Qichen had sent men to inform the U.S..
The informant revealed that North Korea has no nuclear
weapons at all, and that everything came from the CCP.
The goal is to pin down the U.S. to get concessions on
the Taiwan issue.
China and North Korea are both collaborating with each other.

(Commentator) Li Shanjian: “The world views North Korea’s
nuclear test negatively, which it was not supposed to do.
In this pretext, the CCP’sofficial statement on this issue
is aimed at avoiding isolation."

Li Shanjian adds that the U.S. often yields to the CCP on
foreign policy to, in exchange, get the CCP’ssupport on sanctions against North Korea.

Li Shanjian: “American politicians haven’t realized that
the CCP is the real mover behind the scenes."

North Korea’snuclear test site is reportedly located in a
remote and mountainous region, just over 100-km away from China.
After the nuclear explosion, a 5.1 magnitude earthquake,
with a focal depth of 7 km, occurred in Liaoning Province.
It was felt strongly in Shenyang city and surrounding areas,
and in parts of Jilin Province.
The earthquake also caused housing cracks and poor
telecommunication in some areas.
Residents are worried that once a radiation leak occurs
in North Korea, it will pollute water and harm humans, causing serious danger for China.
