Fonterra Milk Tests Reveal Failed CCP Media Propaganda

On August 28, New Zealand officials said 195 tests were held
in laboratories in New Zealand and the US on Fonterra milk.
They found no signs of Forterra milk being tainted by bacteria.

Prior to this, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) state media
constantly reported on the issue with lengthy programs.
Their purpose was to bar imported goods
and to improve the reputation of domestic milk products.
Fonterra milk restored their own reputation,
dealing the CCP a crushing failure in its propaganda efforts.

The New Zealand government hired an independent agency
to perform tests on Fonterra milk products.
They confirmed that Fonterra whey protein concentrate
contains no Clostridium botulinum, which can cause botulism.
Neither has it been found in their infant formula.

New Zealand officials said in a statement that
“the bacteria found in the whey protein concentrate
manufactured by Fonterra is not Clostridium botulinum,"
which was initially identified by Fonterra’s tests.
The bacteria found were Clostridium sporogenes.

The officials say these bacteria they found pose no health risk,
but in high concentration could spoil a product.

Theo Spierings, chief executive of Fonterra,
said he was relieved at the latest results.
He said they did right thing and made the right recall,
the food safety is always the top issue in their mind.

Fonterra’s initial tests incorrectly identified botulism,
triggering a global panic.
The CCP took the opportunity to criticize imported milk.

The People’s Daily published an article calling for
action of not relying on foreign milk.
However, many Chinese consumers have ignored
the propaganda attempts at discrediting foreign milk
products and promoting domestic ones.

Liu Yongze, manager of an enterprise in Changsha, Hunan:
“Personally, I’m rather disgusted by what the propaganda said.
The domestic milk powders have a terribly poor reputation.

Moreover, the CCP selectively uses the law to deal with this.
Penalties on foreign companies are relatively heavy and severe."

Qing Zhao, a teacher at Yongzhou middle school
in Hunan says
he doesn’t read Chinese newspapers,
and his child doesn’t drink domestic milk.

Qing Zhao: “I know the domestic milk have problems.
None of them are good. I am clear about it.
China only has several million cows to produce milk,
it can’t supply a cup of milk per person per day.
Yet there is much milk powder in the market.
Where is it from? They are full of chemicals, toxic.
Polluted air, poisoned water, toxic soil and food,
where is there a non-toxic place [in China]? Nowhere."

Xu Lin, a senior engineer in Guangzhou Province, says that

Fonterra’s recall of all their products shows that
the company takes great responsibility upon itself.
It is totally different compared to the CCP’s common
practice of covering up the truth and mistakes.
The CCP lies to its citizens, and this manifests
the differences between the two systems.

Xu Lin: “China’s food safety and other problems
had the same cause: the CCP’s one-Party dictatorship.
All the government organs and
officials can not be properly monitored.
Thus they don’t do what they should do,
but do what they shouldn’t do.
It has resulted in many social problems including
food safety and construction quality problems."

Xu Lin gives the example that his father used to use domestic
milk powder, and it resulted in him getting kidney stones.
The symptoms disappeared after he stopped
using the milk powder.
Xu says domestic milk powder has a very bad reputation,
and the dairy products industry has dropped down badly.
So the authorities are desperate to attack foreign companies.

Liu Yongze says that when the Chinese companies
run into problems, generally, they will improve
their relationships with authorities to cover it up.
Fonterra addressed the problem and quickly made the recalls.
They had told public the truth.
Thus consumers haven’t lost confidence in Fonterra products.

Regarding the CCP media’s criticism of foreign milk powder,
Chinese consumers strongly debated.
Many people said when foreign milk products are contaminated
due to the loose supervision, it equates to “manslaughter".
However, the Chinese milk powder has deliberately had
melamine artificially added, and it equates to “homicide".
