CCP Cipher-text Orders Suppression of NTDTV

New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) recently obtained
a secret order from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP),
directed to film and TV units within China, warning that
they were banned from providing NTDTV with any programs.
When selling programs overseas, the purchaser had to
agree not to authorize or sublicense the programs to NTD.
A copy of the secret order was also sent to the central 610-
Office, which is controlled by the CCP’s blood debt group.
Why is the CCP opposing NTDTV?—See our reports.

Late 2010, the General Bureau of Radio, Film and TV sent
a notice to its other bureaus, CCTV, and the Movie Channel
Program Centers in all provinces, autonomous regions,
and municipalities, as ordered by the Central Government.
Regarding “Precaution of the Falun Gong NTD Television”,
the notice was sent as a cipher text, ordering related bureaus
not to provide any programs in any form to NTDTV, and
not to use programs from any Falun Gong-related TV.
The notice also warned that violators of the order will be
made to seriously account for their actions.

The former editor in Hebei People’s Radio, Zhu Xinxin said,
TV stations in China are mouthpieces maintaining the CCP’s
one-party dictatorship from the functional point of view,
and are not real media; they cannot make their own choices.

Zhu Xinxin: “NTDTV will certainly be banned in China;
the CCP limited a lot of programs from being sold to NTD.
The CCP actually fears NTD, because it broadcasts a lot of
programs and some featured films which truly reflect China."

In recent years, many people who had installed NTD’s
satellite receivers were suppressed by the police.
Many Falun Gong practitioners who had installed, or had
helped friends to install NTD antenna, were persecuted.
In 2007, Falun Gong practitioner, Zhang Wenliang in Qingdao
was arrested for helping his sister to install the NTD antenna, and was then tortured to death.

Zhu Xinxin: “I have asked some satellite antenna merchants
if they can install the antenna for watching NTD.
They know about NTDTV, its antenna, and how to install it—
or else they won’t say, ‘we’re officially banned to install it’."

Latest news received from sources within Beijing say, in 2011
late December, the Beijing Radio and TV Bureau notified all media,
film and TV companies to hold a so-called ‘Statistical
Conference’, in which it was deployed to suppress NTD.

Zhou Shiyu, the vice president of NTD, says, Beijing has been
making all efforts to suppress NTD, for over a decade.

Zhou Shiyu: “In the past decade, the CCP have suppressed
NTDTV in its commercial operations.
The CCP also spread slander about NTD among the Chinese;

especially working to block NTD’s programs—particularly
NTD’s drama, because among Chinese, news and drama are very popular."

When NTD aired novel writer Qiong Yao’s teen-idol series
and ‘Jigong’, directed by famous mainland actor, Zhang Guoli
relevant CCP departments called the program dealer
in person, and forced NTD to stop playing the programs.

Mainland culture critic, Ye Kuangzheng: “Strictly speaking,
if you don’t agree with NTD’s programs, you can prohibit domestic media from buying them,
but if NTD buys domestic programs,
it’s good for spreading Chinese media overseas.
In terms of market economy, it is really absurd—
this ban also reduces the revenue for TV media in China.”

Online writer, Wu Jianguo, believes the CCP does not realize,

it is their slander and rogue methods which have caused
independent Chinese media, such as NTD, to form and grow.

Wu Jianguo: “From the cipher text of the RFT bureau, we can
tell that the Chinese authorities are obviously bullying NTD.
This cipher text is also copied to the 610-Office, so we know
that the suppression is being instigated by them.
Jiang Zemin had established the 610-Office to persecute
Falun Gong; the 610-Office is placed higher than the law,
and has great privileges—so naturally it is easy for them
to control the RFT bureau."

Wuhan resident, Mr Chin, complained that due to the CCP’s
heightened blockade, he could not watch NTD programs even with the anti-blockade software.

Mr. Chin: “Why watch news with the same tone?
—I’d like to see more of NTD; the blockade is too tight.
It would be great if NTD could broadcast in China,
and I like commentator Shi Tao particularly—Shi Tao
analyzed 2 years ago that Bo Xilai would fall, but in China
media have only just started reporting about Bo Xilai.”

In February 2012, after Wang Lijun fled to the U.S. Consulate,

NTD, as always, provided predictive analysis reports on the
current political situation in China.
NTDTV’s viewer ratings are continuing to climb—NTD is
becoming the benchmark of overseas media reporting.
