(Member of the Executive Board)赵复三,他被要求介绍北京的情况。

The Escape of CCP Official in UN — Zhao Fusan

The 6-4(June 4th) Massacre in 1989 involved many people.
Four days after the incident, UNESCO held a meeting in Paris.
This was planned to be a routine meeting,
but 6-4 had shocked the world.
The agenda was put aside, and 6-4 was discussed instead.

Some delegates accessed graphic photos
from media of the students in the massacre.
The only Chinese delegate in the meeting was Zhao Fusan.

Zhao was a member of the Executive Board
of UNESCO Legislative Organization.
Zhao was asked to introduce the situation
in Beijing, and said three resounding sentences.
He then embarked on an escape, and did not return.

Yao Cong, a friend of Zhao, revealed the true story
of Zhao’s escape in an interview with NTD.

Chinese authorities described the Tiananmen Square
massacre as the ‘Tiananmen Incident, nobody died’.

Zhao Fusan was clear on what happened on 6-4(June 4th),
and he also had first-hand information.
Facing 168 country representatives at the UN General
Assembly, he had a decision to make. What should he say?

Yao Cong, Zhao’s friend described the event: “Because of
conscience, he is a devout Christian, so on this issue,
he did not perform to the central command.
He said three sentences, which were very simple truths.
The first sentence was that he was shocked
by the 6-4 Massacre, killing students.
Everyone was shocked, this is a simple sentence.

The second sentence was that he expressed
condolences and paid honor to the dead.
It is also a very common, of course,
that he should mourn the dead.
The third sentence was to say the history
of China would be rewritten from that point. This was a very powerful sentence."

Yao Cong was a researcher at the Institute of American
Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
Yao is a professor at the University of Wisconsin, USA,
and a scholar at the US Henry Luce Foundation.
Yao said Zhao had told him all
the details about his escape.
Yao Cong appreciated the three sentences
Zhao said at the United Nations.
He expressed his appreciation for Zhao’s resistance to evil,
advocating justice, bravery and wisdom.

After the meeting, Zhao returned
to the Chinese delegation residence.
He saw people from Security Department at the door
with arms on hips, leering at him.
Zhao was scared, and had goose bumps. Soon after,
he went on the run as a fugitive, and did not return.

Yan Jiaqi is a visiting scholar in the US and had worked
as Zhao’s subordinate for 25 years.
Yan said that at the time, Zhao had a very powerful position
in China, but could never return because he told the truth.

Yan Jiaqi: “It was very difficult for him
to stay in a foreign country.
He first went to France, but some questioned
whether he still worked for the Ministry of State Security.
So he later went to Belgium. He even did not
have an income, and he became old.
So he once thought to go to the temple and become a monk.

Later on he came to the United States, and taught
in University of Oklahoma for many years.”

This year, 86-year-old Zhao Fesan told Yao Cong
that his life could be divided into two segments.
During the first 60 years, he had
lived up to his ideals.
Then in the next 20 years, he said, “Reality educated me.
It took 20 years to demolish my ideals.
I had been diligent for a whole life. In the end,
to whom could I confess the whole mess.”

Yao Cong: “In his early life, he supported the Chinese
Communist Party (CCP), and became a docile tool.
Later he was also educated by the facts,
and gradually woke up.
Communism is a ghost.
Marxism-Leninism was fudge, a flicker.”

Yao Cong said many people have been awakened.

The Soviet Union woke earlier, and disintegrated
the Soviet Communist Party.
The Chinese Communist Party has learned
from the Soviet Union, and so will end up the same way.

Yao Cong: “Within the CCP, there are many wise people.
Communism became notorious everywhere in the world.
Some people want to change the name
of the Communist Party.
But they still want to use it’s current
80 million members as its base and capital.
To establish another party, this is a change
in name but not in essence.
It must be changed on a fundamental level.”

Yao Cong said that the tragedy of Zhao’s family

is a representation of the majority of Chinese intellectuals
during the deception and tyrannical rule of the CCP. It is very common.
Zhao’s awakening from being a docile tool of the CCP
after his tragedy is also a representation. This is very common too.
