Hundreds of Parents Who Have Lost Only Children Protest In Beijing

Hundreds of Chinese parents recently protested
in Beijing, against the One-Child policy.
They have all lost their only children.

The parents demanded that the Chinese Communist
Party (CCP) authorities revise the “Birth Control Law”.
They also urged the implementation of a new policy
to help parents nationwide in a similar situation.
Scholars indicate that China’s forced birth control policy
is a serious crime against humanity.
Let’s see our news coverage.

On May 21-22, outside the headquarters of the
National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC),
nearly 500 Chinese parents held a protest.

Coming from across China, these parents have all
lost their only children, most of them are over 50 years old.

The parents were wearing white hats, with:
“Parents who have lost their only children.” (Shi Du Parents) written on them.
Holding the photos of their deceased children,
they were singing a song, “Come Back Home More Often”.
Large numbers of police stood by,
guarding against disturbance.
Two mothers and fathers suffered from heart attacks,
and were given first aid at the scene.

“Shi Du Parents” is a phenomenon
“with Chinese characteristics.”
The term refers to parents who were forced
by the CCP authorities to give birth to only one child,
but lost that child when they got older and became infertile.

They have now become a large
group of childless elderly people.

Hu Liying, a member of Shi Du Parents in Anhui, says that

these elderly people followed the CCP’s propaganda and
threats in the past.
Now they are getting older and weaker,
the government has a duty to care for them, she says.

Hu Liying: “The Shi Du families like us are living with pain.
Every day, we’re living through grief.
Since our children died, we’ve lost our happiness.
At holidays and festivals, we feel the most pain.”

NHFPC data showed that by the end of 2012,
China had about 1 million Shi Du families,
with an annual increase in these families of 76,000 persons.

In February, the official media, Xinhua News Agency reported

that China’s members of one-child generation are now
one hundred million.
Demographers have predicted that China’s Shi Du families
will reach 100 million in the future.

In March in Fengyang county, Anhui,
a 7-month-old fetus was forcibly aborted.
In 2012 in Anhui and Fujian provinces,
there were also forced abortions.
According to NHFPC data released in March, since 1971,

the CCP authorities have forcibly aborted 336 million
fetuses and sterilized over 222 million women.

On May 21, the New York Times published a critique
authored by Ma Jian, a renowned Chinese writer in exile.
It was titled, “China’s brutal one-child policy.”

Ma Jian commented that in the past 30 years,

the “one-child policy” implementation can be seen as
one of the most serious of the CCP’s crimes against humanity.
The stains it has left on China will never be erased.

(Civil rights lawyer, China) Tang Jingling: “The forced
birth control policy has actually allowed the regime
to kill people in the name of policy implementation.
Besides killing, the authorities have used it to
blackmail parents who gave “above-quota” births.
The victim parents and their families have to choose
between paying money and house demolitions.
The policy has thoroughly subverted traditional values.”

Tang Jingling adds that the one-child policy has produced
results such as population ageing and shrinkage.
These have all negatively impacted China’s society
and economic development.

In reality, the CCP’s one-child policy has created a
celebrity culture and a super rich class.

Zhang Yimou, an infamous film director serving the CCP,

was recently exposed as having four mistresses who
have given birth to seven children for him.
Singer Sun Nan will see the upcoming birth of a 3rd child.

Tian Liang, former Olympic diving champion,
had his 2nd child in 2012.
A rich couple, in Guangdong spent over 1 million yuan
in artificial insemination and surrogacy.
They thus became the parents of “octuplets” in 2011.

Ma Jian has revealed demographer He Yafu’s remarks.

He Yafu said that China’s stubborn hardliners won’t
easily abolish one-child policy.
This is because the policy has generated incomes of
about two trillion yuan for the authorities.
Also, it has allowed the Party to exert strict control
over the Chinese people.

Tang Jingling: “Nearly all of the policies initiated by
the authorities will be used as tools to amass money.
That will increase fiscal revenues and make officials rich.
So it has actually become a legal method of extortion.”

Tang Jingling says that so far, more and more Chinese
people have realized that forced birth control is an atrocity.
He believes that China’s tyranny will not last much longer.
