Zhou Yongkang Faction Defies Xi Jinping Leadership
As Chinese Lawyers Violently Beaten in Jiansanjiang Black Jail

Reports indicate Jiansanjiang black jail has escalated
illegal kidnapping and torture of Falun Gong practitioners.
Their defence lawyers are also being targeted.

Analysts believe that Zhou Yongkang cronies are using this
to comeback and discredit the current leader Xi Jinping.
These cronies are escalating the
illegal conduct at Jiansanjiang black jail.
As early as in 2005, Jiang Zemin’s faction extended violence
towards lawyers defending Falun Gong practitioners.

Four Chinese human rights lawyers, Tang Jitian,
Jiang Tianyong, Wang Cheng and Zhang Junjie
demanded to meet with their illegally detained
Falun Gong practitioner clients on March 20.

The four lawyers were subsequently subjected
to between 5 and 15 days detention.
During their detention, they were
brutally beaten by Jiansanjiang police.
The police claimed the lawyers
were involved in ‘cult’ activities.
Subsequently, a series of protests by Chinese
citizens and domestic lawyers has developed.

These protests have drawn international media attention.
Human rights lawyer Ye Ning believes it is
a counterattack from Zhou Yongkang forces.

Ye Ning, human rights lawyer: “These corrupt
forces are conducting crimes to deliberately
create trouble for the current leadership.
I believe it’s the Zhou Yongkang forces’ crazy counterattack.
To go to Jiansanjiang, although there
are signs of significance, is a great risk.
The human rights lawyers should now go to Beijing.
They should voice their demands to the Ministry of
Justice in Beijing and the Beijing lawyers Association.
They can protest, pay solidarity, rally,
or conduct sit-in hunger strikes in Beijing.
Lawyers across the country should
stand up for their persecuted colleagues."

Current affairs columnist Dr. Zhang Tianliang
commented on these events in his blog,
The Jiansanjiang crimes are an extension
of the persecution of Falun Gong from
former CCP leader Jiang Zemin’s policy.
They are a counterattack to the abolishment of the
labor camp system by current leader Xi Jinping.

Ye Ning: “They have persecuted not only the Falun Gong
practitioners, but also those courageous defense lawyers.
Their brutal suppression of the four lawyers is outrageous.
They extended the kidnapping and brutality
to those lawyers who went to Jiansanjiang.
These crimes are totally against humanity."

On March 25, a team of lawyers and
citizens arrived at the detention center.
They conducted hunger strikes outside the black
jail, and demanded to meet the kidnapped lawyers.
On the morning of March 29, the entire
group of 17 people were arrested.
Many of them were subjected to violence and torture.

Tang Jingling, Guangzhou lawyer: “Jiansanjiang
black jail has extended the persecution
of Falun Gong to the defense lawyers.
In fact, the persecution of lawyers has not just started now.
In 2005, lawyer Gao Zhisheng was arrested and subjected
to severe torture under charges of state subversion.
His open letter addressed the illegality
of the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong.
This situation has been under-represented
until now, when it has worsened.
That’s why more people are trying to stop it now."

Attorney Zhang Junjie was violently
assaulted during detention.
His spinal vertebrae suffered three broken
transverse processes, and so he was released.
The other three attorneys were also brutally tortured.
According to the notice from Jiansanjiang, it is feared
that the three of them will be detained as criminals.

Liu Shihui, Guangzhou lawyer: “The Jiansanjiang
authorities have not only violated the law.
They have also committed serious crimes of
violent assault against attorneys Tang Jitian,
Jiang Tianyong, Wang Cheng, and Zhang Junjie.
They have abused the authorities, conducting brutal and
violent crimes of aggravated assault against Zhang Junjie.
Jiansanjiang has turned into a
completely lawless place in China."

However, in the face of repeated suppression
by Jiansanjiang authorities, many lawyers and
citizens still rushed to pay their solidarity and protest.

Lawyers have also stood against the demand of the Chinese
Bar Association regarding “no participating in the protest
at Jiansanjiang, no online posting and comments."

Tang Jingling: “It’s not an authentic Bar Association.
It was merely an organization based
on Lawyers Law stipulated in China.
The CCP manipulates the organization,
which is playing a very disgraceful role.
Lawyers have issued an open online letter
condemning the lawyers Association.
They are also calling for an investigation on the main
leader of the lawyers Association for accountability."

On the morning of April 2, lawyers Tsai Ying, Hu Guiyun,
and Dong Qianyong delivered an appeal letter to the
All China Lawyers Association (ACLA) in Beijing.

They demanded that the ACLA urgently
defend the rights of lawyers to practice law.
The ACLA should initiate an investigation team on
the arrest, beating, and humiliation against lawyers.
They also demanded an appointment to
meet ACLA Chairman Wang Junfeng.
The ACLA reception staff promised to
deliver the request to the leadership.
