【新唐人北京时间2018年01月28日讯】太平洋岛国吉里巴斯（Kiribati）一艘载有50人的渡轮，在10天前失联，今(28)日，新西兰防御部队一架军用飞机在吉里巴斯海域发现一艘救生筏上载有7名生还者，军机对小艇投下物资、水和一台收音机给他们时，并派一艘渔船救援这7人。
综合媒体报导，失联木制渡轮“布提拉维号”（MV Butiraoi）于本月18日由诺诺乌蒂环礁（Nonouti island）出发，原本预计20日就应抵达比修岛（Betio）。
当局直到周四(25日)才发现渡轮失联，联络周边国家包括新西兰、斐济，投入搜救行动。
新西兰官员艾希比（John Ashby）稍早曾表示，“渡轮出发前曾修理传动轴，这可能影响了航行”。
今(28)日，新西兰防御部队（New Zealand Defence Force）一架猎户式（Orion）军机在太平洋中部发现载有7人的小艇在海上漂流。随即联络在小艇东北方92公里处的一艘渔船驰援，预计今天下午就可以接到这些幸存者。
艾希比表示，这艘小艇被认为是失踪渡轮上的2艘小艇之一，目前仍在搜救其他生还者。
