Can People Find Happiness After The Huge Battle of the 18th Congress?
The CCP’s mouthpiece, “News Center,” launched a website
regarding the 18th Congress on Nov. 1.
This website is a joint venture of “People’s Daily”
and “The Communist China News,"
and is responsible for the release of the General Assembly
agenda, dynamics, announcements, notices, etc.
That means all news related to the 18th Congress will come
from here.
In addition, security work in various parts of China is under
tight control—the sky, the underground as if a battle were near.
The people said that if the CCP’s 18th Congress makes such a big
fuss to deal with people, can the Chinese people still find happiness?
Recently, a cell phone message circulated on the
Internet from a telecommunication company,
reminding customers of the fact that the National Security
Bureau will block the Internet due to the 18th Congress.
Any messages related to the 18th Congress or national
information will result in the shutdown of messaging functions.
Beijing netizen Mr. Yang: “I know for sure that
I couldn’t break through the firewall more than a month ago.
My ISP in Janpan doesn’t work ether.
I certainly know how it is."
Reporter: Are you surfing the Internet?
Sichuan netizen Mr. Wang: “No, can’t get on."
Reporter: Do you know why?
Mr. Wang: “It must be security upgrade due to the 18th Congress.”
Netizen Guo Yongfeng: “I cannot get on the Internet either.
They cut my line."
The network writer Bay Wan Jiazai wrote on his blogs that
the 18th Congress convenes in Beijing, but he was blocked in Shanghai.
“It has been 60 years and the CCP has not won the people’s
trust yet,” he said.
Li Wenge, owner of a network shop in Bengbu, Anhui,
comments that the network blockade has been very tight recently.
Dynamic Network isn’t working, including the satellite
he purchased.
He discovered that the network blockade seems
to have specific targets.
Shop owner Li Wenge: “Once, no matter how hard I tried, I failed.
I chatted with others on QQ, but they could break through the wall.
I believe that the CCP is against dissidents or human rights
activists at home.
Therefore, during a sensitive period, their network
will be sealed.
The less sensitive group can break through the wall.
I don’t know why."
Dynamic Network president Xia said, regarding breaking
through the firewall, the effect will be different in different areas or different Internet service providers.
Due to the blockade of the CCP, they also update their versions.
Dynamic Network president Bill Xia: “Since early September,
they have used a variety of ways in the blockade,
we also continue to introduce new versions and new approaches,
but now, many net users are still experiencing difficulties."
“Radio Free Asia” reported, “Political dissidents in China
revealed that all methods to break through the firewall failed recently.”
A Changsha net user (youhouwei) said that recently,
it is indeed more difficult than before.
Zhu Ruifeng, Moderator of the People’s Supervision Network:
“They certainly reinforced the firewall.
It is the 18th Congress, public grievances are especially heavy
and a large number of petitioners come to Beijing.
I receive three or four calls today from petitioners who
are arrested by the Beijing Office or local government.
Some of them are under house arrest following the guise
of negotiation.
With the arrival of the 18th Congress, the security work
in Beijing and throughout China are very tight as if they were facing a battle.
Zhu Ruifeng, Moderator of the People’s Supervision Network:
“You can see the taxi windows which cannot be opened by hand or electrically.
You cannot buy a kitchen knife. Beijing pigeons and remote
control aircraft are not allowed to fly; you cannot buy toy planes.
The streets are filled with red armbands (security forces.)
It is very strict."
The stability maintenance crackdown is not only in Beijing
but also in all other parts of China.
On October 30, armed maintenance of stability police in Tibet
forces held the “18th congress security pledging meeting.”
More than 2,000 armed police attended and performed
special tactics, riot lineups, batons, shields emergency techniques, cudgel play, and Arrest boxing.
Hubei Public Security Bureau said, it will go out in full force
to fight for the security of the 18th Congress.
There are 60,000 police in Hubei will enter the wartime.
Sichuan Provincial Public Security Department launched
the “Thunder Action”, with a total of more than 12,000 armed police,
and organization and prevention force
more than 25,000 people.
On October 31, they officially kicked off the battle of
“Fighting 20 days for the security of the 18th Congress.”
The general public cannot help but ask who are these people
trying to fight for or protect?
