Xi Jinping’s First Visit to Shenzhen with His New Post
to Emulate Deng Xiaoping?
After his anti-corruption talk at the central, Chinese
Communist Party’s new General Secretary Xi Jinping paid his first visit to Shenzhen, Guangdong.
Shenzhen was Deng Xiaoping’s reform frontier during
his Tour to the South.
Official property declaration system is currently talked
highly about in Guangdong.
Guangdong is speculated to be the political reform
pilot station for Xi Jinping.
Xi Jinping’s intention to mimic Deng Xiaoping’s reform
is said to be at a dead end.
The following is our experts’ analysis.
The Communist Party’s new General Secretary, Xi Jinping,
went Shenzhen and Guangzhou for his first official visit.
Deng Xiaoping delivered his speech
during his Tour to the South in Shenzhen, 1992.
Shenzhen also became the first area to reform and
develop during Deng’s era.
Xi Zhongxun, Xi Jinping’s father, proposed special
economic policies in Guangdong when he held the power in Guangdong from 1978 to 1980.
Xi Zhongxun has lived in Shenzhen
after the 1989 student movement.
he media believed that Xi Jinping chose Shenzhen as his
first official visit with his new title meant to demonstrate his support to the reform and his open image.
Political commentator Wang Beiji: “After Xi Jinping was
elected, he visited Guangzhou where Deng Xiaoping went
on his Tour to the South and to Guangdong
where his father worked.
It serves as an illusion that he will follow Deng
and his father to conduct reform and be open.
However, he has also announced that he will pursue
his political idea while the communist ruling is ensured.”
George Mason University professor and
current affairs commentator, Zhang Tianliang,
does not believe there’s any future
as long as Xi Jinping continues the one-party dictatorship.
Professor Zhang Tianliang: “He (Xi Jinping) only went to
Guangdong to proclaim his reform image.
Deng Xiaoping’s Tour to the South started the
“lame duck reform”, that is the economic reform,
but not political reform. Deng’s reform is going nowhere now.
If he continues Deng’s strategy, it’s still a dead end."
Hong Kong’s Ming Pao News reported Guangzhou and
Shenzhen have prepared for the leader’s visit by conducting area cleaning, decoration, and security check of rentals.
Luohu fishermen village where Deng Xiaoping visited in 1984
has also conducted series of cleaning and repairing.
Politburo member Hu Chunhua will also soon
assume his post in Guangdong.
Xi Jinping’s visit Guangdong Communist Party Secretary
Wang Yang is believed a political chip to win people’s support.
Wang Yang has also promoted reform.
Even failed to be a Standing Committee, Wang Yang will
assume his new role in the Communist Central Committee.
With Wang Yang’s accompany, Xi Jinping visited Shenzhen
Futian where Deng Xiaoping’s portrait was installed on December 8.
As for Xi Jinping’s visit to Guangdong,
political commentator Wang Beiji comments that the Communist regime lacks legitimacy,
and it is the crime it’s committed,
not the economy or reform that needs to be addressed.
Wang Beiji indicates Deng Xiaoping’s economic reform has
been superficial. It lacks free market and fair competition.
Communist regime has monopolized resources and
wealth of the society as a whole,
and conducted economic enslavement of the people
of the whole country.
Under such circumstances,
China’s economy is still pessimistic.
Political commentator Wang Beiji:
“The Communist Party is in an illusion of self.
It believes that only to continue political control and
economical development will the regime sustain.
It’s actually like dancing with leg shackles.
The Chinese is tired of so-called anti-corruption, reform and opening up.
It is no use to fuss in one or two regions,
but not to change from the root of the communist system."
Wang Beiji criticizes that Xi Jinping’s following Deng
Xiaoping’s outdated script will not save the Communist.
China needs to disintegrate the Communist Party,
but not to continue the Communist regime.
Any further seemingly open and reform in areas
means nothing to the future of China.
