Chanel turns 21 today, and her birthday present is not only cake but also the coveted Guinness World Records.

The dachshund is now 147 years old in human years. And her owner thinks Chanel made it that far thanks to her lamb and rice treats and lots of love.

And just like most elderly persons, the years are catching up on Chanel, hence the need to wear glasses.

“She’s probably been wearing these for about four years. She has developed cataracts — and she really only developed the cataracts last year. But they’re good for when your dog is outside."

The oldest dog ever, before Chanel was an Australian cattle dog which reached 29 years old and was born in 1910.
