Zhou Yongkang Under Control, Thinks Expert

On April 24, Xinhua News Agency published an article
in a high profile, written on March 26th by Zhou Yongkang.
Zhou is a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Politburo
Standing Committee’ member and a head of CCP’s Political and Legislative Affairs Committee (PLAC).
The article was taken from Zhou’s speech a month ago,
in the first training of PLAC national leaders.
An expert thinks this high profile old news publication
shows that Zhou is being under full control.

Shi Zangshan, Washington-based expert on China issues,
analyzed that the messages in the article are from Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao.
It not only resets the functions of CCP’s PLAC,
but it also completely negates what Zhou did in the past.
In addition, it refutes the work done by the PLAC.
Zhou was, in fact, was being spoken.

Shi Zangshan: “Hu and Wen repeated the speech again
on April 24th. Their intention is clear.
When overseas Chinese media spread such false news that
Jiang Zemin came forward, the article indicates that
Hu and Wen are showing that ‘Zhou has been completely
controlled’, he was being spoken’on month ago.”

Foreign media: Bo Xilai eavesdropped Hu Jintao’s phone

In addition to the news of Zhou being controlled, the news
of Bo eavesdropping Hu’s phone was exposed on April 26th, by a number of mainstream Western media.

According to BBC Chinese Net’ reports, in order to move up
in CCP, Bo had carried out massive activities of eavesdropping on high officials of CCP.
The report quoted Reuter’s news that anonymous CCP insider
said, Bo installed eavesdropping devices in Chongqing Guo Hotel where high ranking officials often stayed.
Last August, when Hu Jintao was talking with Chongqing
senior official, it was found that the phone was spied, which was done by Chongqing officials.

New York Times reported on Thursday that a dozen
of close to CCP people have confirmed the eavesdropping.
It said that a few years ago, an extensive eavesdropping
network was established throughout Chongqing City.
The reports quoted words of CCP insiders that this
eavesdropping program was seen as a direct challenge to the leadership of CCP central committee in Beijing.
It is also another factor
that led to Bo’s removal from position.

Victims of “hit the black” campaign continue to appeal

With the downfall of Bo Xilai and Wang Lijun,
more plots of the campaign “hit the black” are being exposed.
Recently, a number of the campaign’s victims
appealed for innocence, and requested a retrial.

Radio Free Asia reported of Li Jun to be one of the victims,
since he was a wealthy businessman.
His assets of RMB4.5 billion were confiscated overnight,
and about 30 family members and staffs were implicated.
His older brother Li Xiuwu and nephew Zheng Ou
were sentenced to heavy prison terms.
Now Li Xiuwu and Zheng Ou, serving the sentence,
consigned their lawyer to reverse the verdict, and were permitted to meet with their lawyer to discuss the case.

Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post reported, the wives
of three policemen said their husbands were also wrongly accused in the “hit the black” campaign in Chongqing.
These policemen were subjected to torture during the trials.
Now they want to appeal too.

The British’ Financial Times also reported
about such appeals in the past two weeks.
Chongqing billionaire Peng Zhimin and at least 10 other
people claimed they were unfairly treated and ask for retrials.
