【新唐人北京时间2021年04月19日讯】南非桌山（Table Mountain）发生森林大火，四窜的火花波及邻近的开普敦大学，学生逃离宿舍，校园多栋建筑、民宅及历史建筑物遭烧毁。消防队员出动直升机水炮灭火，已知一名消防人员灼伤送医治疗。
综合媒体报导，火苗在周日(18日)稍早从开普敦桌山的山坡上窜出，强风助长火势下，一发不可收拾。当局出动200多名消防员和应急人员灭火。
社群网路影片显示，浓烟在数公里外都清晰可见。当局封闭一些道路，并对登山客发出火灾警报。
路透社报导，起火点邻近魔鬼峰（Devil’s Peak）一处纪念矿业大亨罗兹（Cecil Rhodes）的园地，不久后就延烧到整个山坡。
南非排名最高的开普敦大学（University of Cape Town），校址就位在魔鬼峰山脚，大火延烧，学生被迫惊慌沿着大路逃离宿舍，并眼睁睁看着贾格尔图书馆（Jagger Library）遭毁。大火同时摧毁了多栋民宅、历史建筑物，以及有225年历史的莫斯特磨坊（Mostert’s Mill）。
开普敦大学校方发布声明指出，在紧急服务部门支援教职员下，已将所有学生撤离校园。

More than 200 firefighters and emergency personnel were deployed to battle a raging wildfire on the slopes of Cape Town’s Table Mountain on Sunday.

Efforts continue to contain a vegetation fire in the mountain above UCT.
The City of Cape Town is engaging in active firefighting efforts along with TMNP and the Volunteer Wildfire Service.
