Philippine security forces found six more bodies on Wednesday… at the site
of a brutal election-related massacre in the country’s south. Fifty-two are now confirmed dead.

Some bodies still need to be identified, but 17 of them are believed to be
journalists, making Monday’s killings the most deadly attack ever on the
media.

Rey Subang’s brother, Ian, was one of the journalists killed. Rey says he
recognized his brother’s shoe as soon as he saw it in the pit, as he brought him to work that day.

On Wednesday, the government declared an emergency and sent in troops to the
province of Maguindanao, where the killings took place, and in adjoining
Sultan Kudarat Province and Cotabato City.

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo told reporters the perpetrators will not escape justice.

common in the southern Philippines.
