CCP Official’s Death: Suicide or Else?

Yuan Weiliang, ex-Deputy Mayor of Tieling, Liaoning province
and Director of Liaoning Rural Credit Union, was found dead
in a river after missing for three days.

Police claim that Yuan suffered from depression,
which led to his suicide drowning.
The real cause of Yuan’s death sparked public speculations.

Yuan Weiliang, a Tsinghua University graduate who obtained
his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in economics from Liaoning Univ.
was Deputy Mayor of Tieling city and a standing committee
member of the Chinese communist party (CCP).
Yuan held an important position in the Tieling New District
construction, an investment of hundreds of billions RMB.

Yuan was reportedly missing since September 18, 2011.
Three days later, his body was found in the local Muddy River.
The police claimed that Yuan suffered from depression,
which caused his suicide drawning.

Analysts believe that Yuan, as an important participant in
the Tieling New District construction, knew a lot of
inside stories, which might contribute to his death.

Mr. Li in Liaoning: “I heard that some officials from
the railway system have been arrested.
This may be linked to Yuan’s death.”

An official who used to work with Yuan said that
he did not believe Yuan committed suicide.
He said he wondered how “muddy” the Muddy River is!
hinting there could be other causes to Yuan’s death.

Zhang Kaichen (ex-official of the CCP Propaganda Dept. in
Shenyang): “No matter how Yuan was said to die from
depression or suicide, I think that this is CCP’s new means
to cover up the intensification of social conflicts.

I believe that similar issues will occur more frequently.
The accumulation of tension will finally end up with
a great outbreak. This is a precursor of CCP’s collapse.”

Zhang Kaichen believes that no matter whether civilians
believe it or not, or how the real inside stories are,

the CCP can always compile a set of excuses to curb it,
because the CCP is currently in crisis and
cannot afford much time and energy to meddle with it.

Zhang Kaichen: “Across China and for quite long a time,
there are CCP’s officials who have reported death,

such as mayors and the CCP secretaries among others.
This shows that internal struggle among CCP top officials
has been very intense, with various conflicts escalated.

That is to day, the CCP cannot control the situation.
In order to cover up the truth and maintain its rule,
the CCP authorities never hesitate to kill.”

An online article on Caixin.cn
“List of Recent Suicides by Depression”

shows that since 2006, the CCP officials’ suicide cases
have kept rising, but the explanation is almost the same for
all the cases: dying from high mental stress or depression.

An article entitled “Melancholy Officials and the Depressed
Society” questioned that depression was officially set up or

chosen as a cause for suicide by the authorities,
just because its symptoms of depression is not
easily perceived and therefore difficult to be verified?

But in a social system generally lacking credit or trust,
how can a truth prove its authenticity?

As some blog posts analyze, the competitive pressures of
the CCP officialdom have become increasingly large.
Many dirty things have to be kept confidential, such as
bribery, prostitution and gambling, or bullying civilians, etc.
They feel the pressure to keep the dirty things confidential,
so when they finally reach a critical point,
the CCP officials may experience an outbreak of depression
or suicide due to depression, which is not a surprise.

Zhang Kaichen: “It is possible for them to commit suicide.
It is also possible that they died from other reasons
but claimed as suicide by the CCP authorities.

If the CCP’s autocratic system is not broken or collapses,
Chinese people will never possess truth, fairness and justice.
Anyone who worked hard to support it could only be buried
and crushed by the CCP tyranny, without an explicit reason.”

Zhang Kaichen believes that this is the CCP’s brutal ruling
and the harm this autocratic system brings to the Chinese.
