Upon learning that the Governor of Calif. was coming to visit,
Leftists Fighting Back: Kong Qingdong Challenges Hu&Wen.
Since Bo Xilai was discharged from his position, Chinese
officials, ordinary people and public opinion all supports or even celebrate this decision.
However, Kong Qingdong, Professor from
Peking University, has acted in opposition.
He openly supported Bo Xilai in a TV show. He claimed
that discharging Bo Xilai is a “counter-revolutionary plot”.
Kong pointed his finger directly at the Central Committee
of CCP, openly challenging the Hu&Wen regime.
His aggressive boldness has astonished the public. Some
analysts think “left forces” are vigorously fighting back.
Kong Qingdong is just the speaker of the “left forces”. The
fierce fighting between all CCP senior factions is entangled.
Kong Qingdong, Professor of Peking University,
is a representative of “leftist forces”.
Only a couple hours after Bo Xilai was discharged as CCP
secretary of Chongqing City, Kong reacted.
On the evening of March 15, Kong showed up in an internet
program called ‘No1 Video News’.
He questioned the public “what have you done for Bo Xilai”.
Kong claimed: “Treating the hero of cracking down on
gangsters unjustly is nothing but an anti-revolution plot!”
Kong agitated the public “to fight against dark forces in China.”
Netizens reacted towards Kong as “unprecedentedly bold”
and “wasn’t he drunk?”
New York Times analyst Zhao Yan responded.
“Kong’s agitating words and thoughts are somewhat
misleading to the disadvantaged groups in China.
We often talk about “spreading rumors to deceive
and mislead people”.
That’s exactly what Kong Qingdong
and Sima Nan have been doing.
The words out of the mouth of Kong
are fallacies to mislead the public.
Netizens also said that Bo is the most ambitious person of all.
Bo won’t hesitate a second when he kills an innocent person.
China should never go back to the “red” time as Bo wished.
The “red” terror similar to the “Big Cultural Revolution”
should never be in China again.
Zhao Yan pointed out that because Mao Zedong’s ‘red’
dictatorship wasn’t rejected completely, Bo tries to follow suit.
Bo advocated singing ‘red’ songs and tried to take power.
Zhao Yan: “Bo made use of all media to advocate going back
to Mao Zedong’s time.
He’s trying to put people back to the time
of Big Cultural Revolution, isn’t he?
Thus, Chinese people would suffer the pain from
the Big Cultural Revolution all over again?
Some people advocate going back to Mao’s time
and going back to the time of a planned economy.
Those people should be sent to western China where
a school advocating Mao’s thought can be built.
With the planned economy, the person can only have half
a pound of pork, 0.3 pound oil and three buns a month.
I don’t think those people are willing to go there.
Without mentioning Kong Qingdong and Sima Nan,
nobody in China is willing to go there.
Therefore, whoever advocates going back
to Mao’s time is deceiving people.”
Ye Kuangzheng, poet and cultural critic, thinks that
it’s obvious leftist forces are behind Kong.
Otherwise, a political scholar wouldn’t
be this aggressively bold.
Ye Kuangzheng: “This shows that some forces with power
are behind Kong. No1 Video News website also seems strange.
Since discharging Bo is a consensus, there should be no
voice of objection according to Chinese media regulations.
No1 Video News website dares air Kong and Kong dares
speak out with those bold comments.
All those facts prove that there are some powerful political
forces behind them. Those political forces object to discharging Bo Xilai. ”
In addition to CCP official media, “People’s Daily”, “CCTV”
etc, there are some websites controlled by different factions of CCP political forces.
For example, it was said that “Exclusive Network”
and “April Net” belong to “leftist forces”.
Ye Kuangzheng pointed out that the media that dare publish
Kong’s crazy comments are courting death.
If not, the media are speaking for some high profile
political forces.
It shows that the CCP senior authorities are still fighting
with each other on the Bo issue.
