Sima Nan Involved in Bo Xilai’s Removal

With the fall of the Chinese Communist Party(CCP)’s
former Secretary of Chongqing, Bo Xilai,
Chongqing Mayor, Huang Qifan, quickly started exposing
Bo’s lawlessness regarding Sima Nan, say online sources.
On March 18: CCP’s ‘senior 50-cent’ commentator, Sima Nan,
“clarified the rumors", saying his remarks were under control and the topic of his speech was confined.
Some say Sima is reaping what he sowed, with his extended
use of public power to suppress other’s freedom of speech.

Bo’s sudden removal on March 15
brought panic to the Maoist-left force.
This panic caused the rapid defection of Chongqing Mayor,
Huang Qifan, according to online sources.
Allegedly, Huang revealed Bo’s order to make Maoist-leftist,
Sima Nan, a role model of “learning from Lei Feng”,
empowering Sima Nan to be in charge
of the local propaganda area.
Huang says Sima Nan had been following Bo’s instruction to
collect and spread news against Wen Jiabao and Xi Jinpin.
Bo had also misused public funds;
paying tuition fees for Sima Nan’s son in the U.S.

March 16: Sima Nan’s micro-blog posting stated to
cancel recent lectures and freeze newly produced programs.
The posting’s last sentence said: “Goodbye, everyone.”

Online sources quickly responded: Sima Nan is transferring
personal property in preparation of fleeing to the U.S.
Other unconfirmed online news said,
Sima Nan is arranging a divorce with his wife, all Sima Nan’s properties are under his wife’s name.
Further rumors claim that Sima Nan was arrested
at Beijing International Airport, trying to flee to the U.S.

Rumors come from renown or VIP bloggers, not from
newly registered or anonymous micro-blog or blog accounts.

March 17: Wu Fatian, another “senior 50-cent" commentator
as labeled by netizens, posted online to speak for Sima Nan.
Wu, an associate professor at China University
of Political Science and Law, said in his micro-blog that,
Sima Nan suffered rumors against him
because his micro-blog was restricted in expression.
Apparently Sima Nan authorized Wu
to forward his own blog clarification remarks.

March 18: Sima Nan said in an interview at his Beijing home
with several media that a lot of people believed the rumors.

Sima Nan claims that his micro-blog was banned
from postings, and the topic of his speech was limited

Pu Fei, spokesman for the website, 64tianwang.com,
says Sima Nan gets what he deserves.
Pu Fei says Sima Nan has been keen on suppressing
the freedom of speech of dissidents for a long time.

Pu Fei: “He (Sima Nan) relied on the regime’s power system
to crack down on dissidents and Falun Gong.
That gave rise to a consensus of hatred from netizens.

I believe that if Mr. Sima Nan hadn’t used the public power to
assult others, he wouldn’t be mocked by the public now.
Whether or not a person supports some specific person or
the Chongqing model, that’s his free choice.
But Sima Nan has long been keen on suppressing freedom
of speech, with Falun Gong practitioners and dissidents.
That resulted in today’s situation that he faces.”

Sima Nan—formerly known as Yu Li—was born in 1956.

Sima Nan was known in China for his touted fight against
“pseudo-science” and for exposing “pseudo-Qigong”.
In recent years he repeatedly challenged public opinions,
verbally attacked the U.S. and abused others as traitors.
Sima Nan was labeled by Chinese netizens as:
“senior 50-cent" commentator and “anti-American fighter”.

In 2011, Sima Nan publicly accused renowned artist,
Ai Weiwei, of engaging in politics with foreigners’ money.
Sima Nan also said the US intentionally humiliated China
with the case of the blind activist lawyer, Chen Guangcheng.
Hong Kong’s July march was also criticized by Sima Nan.

During 2012’s Chinese New Year, Sima Nan’s head got
stuck in the airport escalator, while on his way to the U.S.
Netizens said: “You asked for it".

Online posts say that Sima Nan implicated in
Bo Xilai’s recent removal from his post.
